Maternal Guide

Birth & Postpartum Doula • Mother • Student

Mia fell in love with the worlds of of birth and postpartum after becoming a mother herself. Her first long and complicated labor resulting in a cesarean birth followed by a liberating VBAC opened her eyes to the importance of birth in creating empowered beginnings. After an experience with postpartum depression and anxiety, Mia realized the necessity of whole-hearted support through this transformative time. Mia is a DONA International trained birth and postpartum doula and has received specialized  training in postpartum mood disorders, infant massage, acupressure for labor support, and more. She specializes in both Vaginal Birth After Cesarean and Postpartum Mood Disorders but enjoys serving families no matter how they plan to birth.

When she's not engulfed in birth work, Mia can be found on the trails with her husband and two boys in northwest Austin. As a full-spectrum doula, she also enjoys serving as the Giving Austin Labor Support- Travis County Sheriff's Office project coordinator, is an active volunteer with The Pregnancy and Postpartum Health Alliance of Texas, and a professional member of Central Texas Doula Association. In addition, Mia is parenthood preparedness teacher for Austin Baby Guru.
